Single row angular contact ball bearings
Single row angular contact ball bearings consist of an outer ring, an inner ring, a row of steel balls and a cage. This type of bearing can bear radial load and axial load at the same time, and can also bear pure axial load, and can work at high speed. Single row angular contact ball bearings can only withstand axial loads in one direction. When subjected to radial loads, additional axial forces will be induced, and the axial displacement of the shaft and housing can only be limited in one direction. Although this type of bearing can only bear axial loads in one direction, it can be combined with another bearing that bears loads in the opposite direction. If it is installed in pairs, the same end faces of the outer rings of a pair of bearings are opposite to each other, the wide end faces the wide
and face (back-to-back DB),and the narrow end faces the narrow end face (face-to-face DF), so as to avoid causing additional axial force, Also, the shaft or housing can be limited to axial play in both directions.
The single-row angular contact ball bearing has more balls than the deep groove ball bearing of the same size, so the rated load is the largest in the ball bearing, the rigidity is also strong, and the operation is stable. The radial clearance can be adjusted by the mutual displacement of the inner and outer rings, and several sets of bearings can be connected in parallel to cause pre-interference to improve the rigidity of the system.
The use of angular contact ball bearings cannot be disassembled, and its self-aligning ability is very limited.
The characteristic of this type of bearing is that the contact angle is not zero, and the standard contact angles of single row angular contact ball bearings are 15°, 25°, 30°, and 40°. The size of the contact angle determines the radial force and axial force that the bearing can withstand during operation. The larger the contact angle, the greater the axial load capacity it can withstand. However, the smaller the contact angle, the more favorable for high-speed rotation.
Single row angular contact ball bearings have no inherent clearance. Only assembled angular contact ball bearings have internal clearance. According to the requirements of working conditions, there are two ways to provide assembled bearings: preload (preload) and preclearance (preset clearance). The internal clearance of preloaded angular contact ball bearings is zero or negative. It is often used on the spindle of machine tools to improve the rigidity and rotation accuracy of the spindle. The clearance (preload) of the paired angular contact ball bearings has been adjusted before leaving the factory, and no user adjustment is required. The main width tolerance and end face protrusion of ordinary single-row angular contact ball bearings are only produced according to ordinary grades, and cannot be paired and combined at will.
The production of universal assembled angular contact ball bearings can be assembled in any way, such as back-to-back, face-to-face or in series. There are two ways to provide universal matching bearings: preload (preload) and preclearance (preset clearance). With the exception of the universal assembled bearing, the individual bearings in the other assembled bearings are not interchangeable.
Double row angular contact ball bearings
The design of double row angular contact ball bearings is basically the same as that of single row angular contact ball bearings, but only takes up less axial space. Double row angular contact ball bearings can withstand radial loads and axial loads acting in both directions. High rigidity bearing arrangements are available and can withstand overturning moments.
Single row angular contact ball bearings and combined angular contact ball bearings
In order to improve the rigidity and load-carrying capacity of angular contact ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings of the same specification are often assembled in double quadruple (QBCQFC, QT) or even quintuple (PBC, PFC, PT, PBT, PFT) forms. For double angular contact ball bearings, the arrangement methods are divided into three types: back-to-back (DB), face-to-face (DF), and tandem (DT). Back-to-back angular contact ball bearings are suitable for bearing separate or combined radial and axial loads, and can withstand bidirectional axial loads. It can bear large overturning moment and has strong rigidity. Different preloads can be applied according to the operating conditions. Face-to-face angular contact ball bearings are subject to less overturning moments and provide lower system stiffness. The advantage is that it is less sensitive to bearing housing concentricity errors. Angular contact ball bearings arranged in series are only allowed to bear a large axial load in one direction. In most cases, a spring is used to apply a preload, and the amount of radial load that can be supported and the stiffness of the bearing depend on the selected preload value.
Application:
This type of bearing is mostly used in occasions with high speed, high precision and small axial load. Such as aircraft engine spindles, machine tool spindles and other high-speed precision machinery spindles, high-frequency motors, gas turbines, oil pumps, air compressors, printing machinery, etc. It is the most widely used type of bearing in the machinery industry.
